FOR THOSE WHO WERE THERE -
AND THOSE WHO WISH THEY WERE
From South Coast synth-pop heroes to chart-topping sensations - The Mobiles are back.
Best known for their 1982 Top 10 hit Drowning in Berlin, The Mobiles went from playing pubs to selling a quarter of a million records worldwide and performing to crowds of 10,000 at Wembley Arena. Now, more than four decades on, the original band have reunited with a fresh line-up, brand-new material and a renewed creative spark.
After reconnecting in East Sussex in 2025, founding members Russ Madge, Chris Downton and David Blundell began writing again - and in just six months created over 20 new songs. The result is Mosaic, their first new album in 44 years, due for release in 2026, alongside new versions of Drowning in Berlin, including an orchestral arrangement.
Completing the new Mobiles line-up is Hastings’ own Sarah G, whose powerful vocals bring a new dimension to the band’s unmistakable sound.
This special show at The Piper, St Leonards is a rare chance to see The Mobiles up close, performing:
Drowning in Berlin and other classic tracks
Brand-new songs from the forthcoming album Mosaic
The signature synth-pop sound that defined an era - live, loud and re-energised
Whether you remember them first time around or are discovering them anew, this is a unique opportunity to catch a genuine South Coast success story — recharged for 2026.
